The Athlete’s Foot has launched a back-to-school contest promotion in which participants may win a one-on-one coaching session with a professional athlete.
The contest, called “In My Shoes,” is meant to encourage students to set goals for the coming school year and explain how they might go about accomplishing them. Winners will receive an Athlete’s Foot gift card, a pair of shoes or the grand prize: a coaching session with “a professional athlete to help them on the road to achieving their goal,” according to a release.
To enter the contest, students will fill out forms in stores or on the Website Tafinmyshoes.com, or they can submit a one-minute video to YouTube. Winners will be announced Sept. 1.
Robert D’Loren, president and CEO of NexCen Brands Inc., which owns The Athlete’s Foot, said he hopes the contest will motivate students.
“Through ‘In My Shoes,’ we are outfitting our young customers, everyday athletes with aspirations for the new year, with what they need in order to perform at their personal best,” D’Loren said in a release.
As Footwear News reported last month, The Athlete’s Foot is implementing several additional initiatives to boost b-t-s sales. It is using a modular merchandising system to distribute trend-right product to specific franchise locations, and it is bowing a partial redesign to showcase the new TAF-branded apparel.
